The Wu Jianmin Scholarship Award Ceremony Held at CFAU

On the afternoon of March 28, 2018, the education event and scholarship award ceremony themed "Bear in mind the mission of youth and help to realize the dream of the new era" was held at the Shahe Campus of CFAU. Chairman of the WJF Ambassador Shi Yanhua and Chairman Wu Jiansheng were invited to attend the ceremony and awarded certificates of honor on behalf of the Foundation to winners of Wu Jianmin Scholarship.

The Wu Jianmin Scholarship is a special scholarship set up by the WJF at CFAU to reward outstanding young talents interested in international exchange.

Ambassador Shi Yanhua delivered a speech at the award ceremony. "I am very pleased to come to the new campus in Shahe. This is my first visit here, but I have already heard much about the new campus. When Wu Jianmin was the president of CFAU, he was bent on expanding the size of the campus. Eventually, we have managed to complete the mission. Therefore, welcoming feel quite affectionate to come here." She so stated.

“Today, on behalf of the Beijing Wu Jianmin Foundation, I award the Wu Jianmin Scholarship to some outstanding students of CFAU. The scholarship was launched to encourage young students to study hard and serve our motherland. In Wu Jianmin's words, it means to 'love your motherland and love mankind.' De Gaulle once said, patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first. ” Said Ambassador Shi Yanhua, “I am very pleased to see that in the face of various social ideologies, the students of CFAU remain highly rational, thinking independently, acting with reason, and knowing the fundamental interests of our country. You have truly demonstrated the attributes of potential diplomats. I am gratified and congratulate you. I hope that you will study hard and grow into outstanding professionals in diplomacy and foreign affairs so as to make major contributions to China’s fundamental interests! ”

After the award ceremony, the CFAU students put on a wonderful art performance.

CFAU President Qin Yaqing made a summary speech and encouraged everyone to strengthen their ideals and convictions, keep in mind their initial intention and mission, and study assiduously to contribute to the vigorous development of China’s diplomacy guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a new era.
